Force, Motion, and Graphs
Click "Go" and observe the motion of a ball rolling along an adjustable track, along with a motion diagram and graphs. Compare the two graphs with the motion diagram of the ball, keeping in mind your knowledge of real balls on a track: That is, (a) as the ball rolls down a track segment, it picks up speed; and (b) as it rolls up a segment, it slows down. Change the shape of the track and observe the effect on the motion. For each case, make sure you understand the relationships among the motion diagram, the graphs, and the actual motion.
