Note the Physics
- The increasing, decreasing, or constant spacing between successive tracks
on the motion diagram is clearly reflected by the change in X or Y values on the position graph.
- Increasing, decreasing, or constant spacing with time on the motion diagram
is an indication of increasing, decreasing, or constant speed (magnitude of
velocity).
- The variation (or not) of the spacing with time on
the motion diagram gives information about the acceleration:
- Increasing spacing indicates acceleration in the same direction as the velocity.
- Decreasing spacing indicates acceleration in the opposite direction to the velocity.
- Constant spacing indicates zero acceleration.
