Note the Physics

• If the tangent of the position vs. time curve slopes upward to the right on the graph, the velocity is positive; if it slopes downward to the right, the velocity is negative. Recall that the sign of the velocity determines the direction of motion.
• The steeper the tangent (positively or negatively), the larger the speed (the magnitude of the velocity).
