- The position of an object
cannot be determined solely from its velocity vs. time graph; however, the
displacement (change in position) can.
- The displacement over a given time interval is
equal to the net area bounded by the velocity curve and by the initial and final time values,
considering area above the time axis as positive, that below as negative.
- The displacement can also be found by multiplying
the average velocity by the time interval.
