Displacement and Average Velocity
The position cannot be determined from the velocity graph without additional information (e.g., the initial position). What can be determined from the velocity graph is the displacement; it is the net area between the velocity curve and the time axis, bounded by the initial and final time values. This Illumination will give you practice in calculating displacement from a velocity graph, and then average velocity from the displacement.
