Note the Physics
- The location of the object can be found relative to
a previous location if the velocity at the previous location is known, along
with the acceleration and time interval.
- In this simulation, the x
and y parts of the motion are independent of each other. This is a reasonably good approximation for
the motion of a thrown rock, but not for a styrofoam ball.
- More realistically, air resistance depends upon
the speed of the object, and the two component parts of the motion are related. In
this case the horizontal and vertical components are said to be "coupled".
