Vector Components (Trigonometric)
If you have not previously practiced identifying vector components geometrically, you should try the Vector Components (Geometric) Illumination first. The applet at the right will give you practice in expressing vector components in terms of the trigonometric sine and cosine functions. When you click "Go" it draws a coordinate system and vector V with the positive angle B it makes with one of the axes. Type in the expression for the requested component in terms of the appropriate trigonometric function.
Note: You must use lower case for sin or cos, and upper case for the magnitude V and the angle B. Blanks are allowed.
